Charlotte Perez
Charlotte Perez, 36, was born at St. Mary Corwin. Charlotte went to Columbian Elementary, Corwin Middle, & Central High School. At 16 years of age, she was kicked out of her abusive home, and she had to fend for herself, getting a job to pay for apartment, but having to drop out out of school. 10 years later, she would get her General Equivilency Degree (G.E.D.) at Pueblo Community College in 2008. Charlotte has family in New York, and lived both there & here for years. Her Grandmother Toni took care of her mostly when she lived in Pueblo. Toni liked the song "Oye Compadre" by Ruben Ramos. Charlotte has worked as a roofer, as a cook, telemarketer, & many remedial labor jobs. Her political awakening happened when she worked on gathering signatures for an anti-TABOR initiative years back. Charlotte worked on the Amendment 66 petition drive in 2013 as well.
By registering folks to vote, & circulating petitions, & educating folks about the issues on the street, Charlotte has shown a political maturity absent today in many folks.
