My Jesus Christ vs Larry Atencio's Jesus Christ

Image
"I wish I could do away with poverty. Our Lord Jesus Christ worked on that problem. He couldn't solve it. Didn't he say, 'there will always be the poor'?" ~Pueblo City Councilman Larry Atencio, taking Jesus Christ out of context, April 21, 2018 I could have intentionally & sarcastically quoted Larry like this: "Without the poor, who is going to pick up our garbage, sweep our halls, & wipe our asses?" ~Councilman Larry Atencio But I did not. Larry Atencio made the point that since Jesus Christ wasn't able to eradicate poverty 2,000 years ago during the Bronze Age in the Middle East, specifically, in Jerusalem  - before the radio, automobile, the Internet, & Johnathan Masters was invented -, that we shouldn't try to eradicate poverty in the Postmodern Age. Sure, Larry, Jesus tried to cure poverty 2,000 years ago, but Jesus didn't live in Amerika. And he was up against the Romans. & Pontius Pilate. Shit was different back the

Gradisar's French-style Runoff Election Proposal Shitted On By Several Mayoral Candidates

Nick Gradisar: "Alright. So this is the question my committee told me not to answer anymore, but I'm going to have to, have to, anyways. I've been... city council... to not to do runoff elections, which is in the charter that the Pueblo people voted on (sic). So, my judgment, my opinion is, that they have to have a runoff election. That's what, uh, what the people voted on. If nobody in the 1st election in November gets a majority, then 30 days later, or whatever it was, there should be a runoff among the Top 2 candidates. The system that they're talking about now, I don't think its possible to do that, because it's possible that somebody other than... - & I don't think the city council is talking about it; it's the County Clerk that's talking about it - would allow somebody who wasn't in the Top 2 to perhaps win the election. Lots of studies have been done about this system, & you will find out more about it, but uh, um... My judgme

Pueblo's new Strong Mayor is Pueblo's 1st Postmodern Mayor, not Pueblo's 1st Mayor Ever

Nick Gradisar agreed with me when I said that the new Strong Mayor is going to be Pueblo's 1st Mayor in the modern Era, but I don't agree with me. Currently, we're in the Postmodern Enlightenment Internet Millennial Information Era (PEIMIE). Pueblo's new Strong Mayor of 2019 - 2024 will be Pueblo's 1st Mayor of the Postmodern Era.   Nick Gradisar seems to be careful in describing this upcoming "first Mayor of Pueblo", & he knows there's been 21 Mayors prior. I wanted to make a note about that terminology, about what's right & correct & true regarding Pueblo's new Mayor, and what's not, because too many folks are repeating the lie that this new Strong Mayor will be Pueblo's "1st Mayor", which is patently false. The City of Pueblo has had at least 21 Mayors. The new Mayor taking the gauntlet will be Pueblo City's 22nd Mayor, total, I think, but not in terms of regimes. There's been 23 mayoralships, or

Cinco De Mayo Forever

On April 21, 2018, at 9:30pm, in the heart of Bessemer, there was a loud banging happening outside of my house. It sounded like somebody on Ricky Muniz Alley was slamming a crappy car door, twice, really hard, with 8 seconds in between the two slams, but it startled me. I wondered, "Am I going to die? I cannot! I must keep typing! I must capture the snapshot of Pueblo City's 1st Mayoral Forum in the postmodern era in print!" At least the random burst of gunfire has subsided. The gunshots in Bessemer haven't been as frequent as when I first moved in over a year ago. A few days ago, some extended pickup truck was driving crazy fast all over the place, first in the alley, then on Spruce Street, and then it was gone forever. xxx Of course, we should pardon Jack Johnson. He drove past state lines, and had sex with a white woman, a white woman who consented, willingly. Jack Johnson was a proud boisterous Black man, having sex with a white woman, in the early 1900s, 60 years

"There will always be the poor." ~Pueblo City Councilman Larry Atencio

"Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." ~Matthew 19:24 Taylor Voss & Noemi Morales & 1 other one put on a great "Mayor's Forum" show. There's 4 more coming up, check out their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Pueblo-Mayor-Candidate-Forums-237101150195267/ These Pueblo City Mayoral forums are turning out to be some legendary Lincoln-Douglass shit. Transcripts should be written, & every citizen & student need to carefully weigh each candidate's words, what it means for policy, & for the future of Pueblo City. While that Jackie Massey rocked the entire show, I wouldn't vote for him. Not yet. I'm too unfamiliar with him. I need to know more. Larry Atencio doesn't understand the 3 Branches of Government. He claims that the Mayor is merely an administrator, & that the City Council is the Executive Branch. Nope. The Mayor is the E
